Lowe’s knows that having the right tool is key to every project. That’s why, after an extensive vetting process, the North American home improvement and hardware leader chose Point of Rental software to manage their new tool rental program from reservations to returns and maintenance.

Building their rental system on Point of Rental gives Lowe’s an advantage over other home improvement stores doing rental: Lowe’s renters can reserve items for future rentals, electronically sign paperwork, and even self-serve via in-store kiosks.

“Lowe’s did their research and came to us with a list of requirements they needed to successfully run their own tool rental departments,” said Point of Rental CEO Wayne Harris. “We’ve been building rental software for 37 years and we’re always looking forward to meeting the challenges facing our customers. We’re excited to partner with Lowe’s as they enter the rental market.

“As retailers diversify their offerings and work with a generation more interested in renting, we’re seeing more businesses interested in rental as a way to reach their customers.”

Lowe’s central Charlotte location started its tool rental process on Aug. 20 and the company intends to expand its availability across its locations over the next few years. As more locations add tool rental, customers will be able to set a home store and view item availability at all Lowe’s tool rental locations.

Point of Rental’s industry knowledge (and ability to create the features that their customers need) puts Lowe’s in the best position to deliver the right home improvement products, with the best service and value, across every channel and community they serve.
