20+ years ago, a small group of Point of Rental employees decided to take the innovative features Point of Rental brought to the rental industry and bring them to rental customers.
Our mission: To build websites that are easy, profitable, and convenient for rental leaders and their customers.
At the time, Point of Rental was tightly focused on providing the best back-end functionality possible; those Pointers were encouraged to follow their passion and establish RentalHosting.com. Our teams continued to work together; they used their knowledge of our software to build integrated websites for decades as both companies became leaders in their respective spaces.
In 2021, as Point of Rental’s offerings expanded and e-commerce became a central part of many rental businesses’ processes, Rental Hosting (and the people that created it) officially became a part of Point of Rental.

The online catalog portion of your new website comes directly from your Point of Rental system (through nightly auto-updates). We will work with you on the organization of your items, categories, and divisions to best represent your inventory on the site.
Once you approve the final version of your new integrated website, our Web Design Team will go through final testing. When the site is cleared to go live, our Web Design Team will access your Domain Registry account and make changes (to your DNS records) so that your web address points to the new site instead of your old one. Post-live testing is then performed, and you are notified that the site is live.
Yes, we offer integration-only options without the full design package. Please request a quote below, and select the “Keep existing website” design option in the quote wizard.
Our websites are the only online solution that automatically uploads your Point of Rental inventory to the web. With other rental sites, you must maintain the online inventory yourself; it can easily become out-of-date. The Point of Rental solution saves you time and money, and ensures that your online customers will see your most current inventory. Once your site is up and running, it practically manages itself!
At this time, we do not offer domain registration. Please choose any reputable domain registrar to register your new domain and let us know when it is completed. We also recommend that you register/renew your domain for a minimum of 5 years. If your domain is already registered through someone else, we highly recommend that you transfer the domain ownership back to you/your business.
