Point of Rental’s roots begin in 1982 when three NASA engineers opened a rental store in Texas. Quickly finding that existing rental and inventory management software was clunky, slow, and too unreliable for these new business owners who had previously worked on software for the lunar lander, they decided to write their own. Consequently, Point of Rental Software was developed behind the counter of their rental store, giving basis to the company’s claim that rental insight is the DNA of their software.
