Simon Gibbons, a 30-year veteran of the hire industry, joined Point of Rental as the company’s new Business Development and Implementation Manager on November 5.
“We’re excited to be able to add someone of Simon’s calibre and with his in-depth industry knowledge,” said Managing Director Mark Goodrum. “We’re committed to providing hire expertise along with our software, and Simon brings knowledge of, and experience with, nearly every aspect of running a hire business.”
“Having used Point of Rental’s software in a number of previous positions, and having dealt with the company as a customer, it’s always been clear to me that their commitment to their products and their customers was second to none,” Gibbons said.
“All through the interview process, I felt as though I was already part of a great team,” said Gibbons. “I have known Mark Goodrum for many years and I’m privileged to be given the opportunity to use my many years’ experience within the hire industry to help influence the development going forward.”
Gibbons started his hire career in 1992 with Jewson Builders Merchant as an Operations Manager and has been managing top London-based hire businesses since, from Speedy Hire to A-Plant to Travis Perkins. As a regional manager, he oversaw more than 204 branches and multiple satellite locations. In recent years, he’s worked as both a sales director and a growth manager, honing leadership skills he’ll bring to his new position.
