Lisa Wessinger, fresh from NES and United Rentals, has taken her 30 years of rental industry experience to Point of Rental’s support team, where she uses her programming knowledge to provide custom reports for rental stores.
“I looked at [Point of Rental’s] website and read the newsletters and thought, ‘Oh my gosh, I want to work there so bad,” Wessinger said. She applied for a bilingual trainer position, despite speaking only English, just to get her resume in the building. CEO Wayne Harris realized her second language was rental, and reached out to her to bring her aboard as a Data Analyst and Reporting Engineer.
Wessinger grew up wanting to work with computers. “I was very good at math, and my sister said, ‘You can be a math teacher or you can go into computer science,’” she explained. Her first job in college was with Mango Equipment in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she managed the office, acted as an executive assistant, and wrote software. After moving to Dallas and working in finance for a few years, Mango Equipment had expanded to the Dallas area and she couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get back into the rental industry. She’s spent the last 20 years with NES and United Rentals, consolidating databases and training employees remotely.
Now she’s back in the office with Point of Rental, excited about the opportunity to come in and be a part of a team working together on-site. In her new roles, she’ll be speaking both her languages: rental data and customer service.
