Point-of-Rental Software Meets New PCI Security Validations

Rental software provider, Point-of-Rental™ Systems, recently updated all of their credit card security compliance based on the latest release of Payment Application Data Security Standards (PA-DSS), version 2.0. “Stores have to use PCI compliant software in order to accept credit cards for payment of good and services,” says Point-of-Rental’s IT Support Liaison, Daniel Ruiz. “In order for our customers to be PCI Compliant they have to assess whether their payment software meets the PCI-DSS requirements. Registration opens for Point-of-Rental Software User Meeting in Orlando

Point-of-Rental™ Systems will hold its annual User Meeting on Sunday, February 9, 2014 from 3:30 pm to 5:45 pm at the Orange County Convention Center prior to the opening of the ARA Rental Show. Free to all Point-of-Rental customers, this short meeting takes place to review software updates and answer any questions customers may have. Although this event is free, customers interested in attending must register by Monday, January 20, 2014.

Point-of-Rental Software Scheduled to Host Regional Training at the ARA Rental Show in Orlando

On Thursday, February 13, 2014, directly following the ARA Rental Show, Point-of-Rental will host its Regional Training from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for its customers at the Castle Hotel (8629 International Drive, Orlando, Florida 32819). Cost of the conference is $225 for the first person and $200 for each additional person. Training topics include top features in version 2013, Mobile WorkForce, Continuation Billing, Invoicing and Accounts Receivable, Overbooking, Advanced Day at a Glance, Automation Features, Marketing and making your website work for you. Point-of-Rental Software CEO Celebrates 20 Years

Wayne Harris, President and CEO of Point-of-Rental™ Systems, marked his 20th anniversary with the rental management software company on Friday, October 11. The milestone was celebrated with cake at the office headquarters in Grand Prairie, Texas, and dinner with previous owners, Bob Shaffer and Steve Husbands, whom Harris bought the company from in 2011. In 1993, Bob Shaffer hired Harris to revamp the company’s aging UNIX-based software. He believed that Harris’s combination of practical rental knowledge and an MIT education uniquely equipped him to build upon Point-of-Rental’s hallmark software designed “by rental people for rental people.” Harris grew up working
