InTents honored five tenting industry professionals under the age of 40 in their first-ever “5 Under 40” list this August. Each of them had a unique path to the list; three of them are Point of Rental users. We like highlighting Pointers who are making an impact in the industry and the world, so here are the three who made InTents’ list (read the rest of their stories on InTents’ website):

Ramsey Duqum, CEO and Co-Owner, AAble Rents in Cleveland, Ohio

Ramsey grew up “punching in” at AAble Rents starting at five years old. In 2006, his grandmother asked him to take over as the company’s operations manager – they were 60 days away from insolvency. He cleaned house and began to turn the company around. In 2012, he and his brother, Brandon (AAble Rents’ CFO), bought the company, became a member of the Point of Rental family, standardized the company’s systems, and made the move into high-end tenting and flooring.

AAble Rents has also been creating new products and working with manufacturers to develop features that benefit the entire industry.

Sean McCarthy, Owner, McCarthy Tents & Events in Rochester and Buffalo, N.Y.

Sean worked on an installation crew for a few years before deciding he was ready to run his own company. In 2008, he founded McCarthy Tents & Events, starting off with a 25-chair delivery on New Year’s Eve. Now he owns two locations, providing tents and structures for everything from small backyard parties to large corporate events and festivals.

From early May to October each year, he’s often on the road, fostering connections with his regular customers and adding opportunities to meet new customers.

Tarryn Prosper, Director of Tent Sales, PEAK Event Services, Woburn, Mass.

Tarryn has loved building structures since she was obsessed with K’NEX building sets as a kid. Now she manages the tent rental division at PEAK Event Services, managing a team of tent sales consultants. Because the company is a one-stop event solution, she uses her ability to focus on small details and the big picture to deliver incredible customer experiences.

PEAK’s company culture promotes the celebration of one another’s successes and inspires her and her team as they partake in clients’ emotional milestones together.

Walberto Vasquez of The Tent Co. in Houston, Texas, and Zachary Wilson of The Greenwich Tent Co. were the other two leaders listed.

Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees!
