Alexx Bacon from Aaberg’s Tool & Equipment Rental grew up with eyes on the rental industry from the beginning. At 35, he’s taken over the family business, helping keep his late father, Hank’s, rental store alive and thriving. Since taking over, he’s built a new 6,500-sq.-ft. office/shop and expanded the business, which caters to small/medium contractors and DIYers in the Tacoma, Wash. area. More
Grant Christopher is also a second-generation rental owner, running Christopher Equipment in Tullahoma, Tenn. He’s helped modernize the company, leveraging collected data to make more informed purchasing decisions, and overseen the company’s expansion to a fourth location. He joined the ARA of Tennessee Board of Directors in 2023 and is excited about the power of AI and ecommerce to make a big impact in the industry. More
Special Event Rentals’ Kaitlyn DeGrasse has an inherent love of events, having grown up with her mom planning them for a variety of companies. Working for the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada company, she’s helped build the company’s rental catalog to feature popular luxury items. She also hosts a podcast aimed at fostering community and education within the rental industry, highlighting the different types of events and event roles. More
Elizabeth Haas married into the rental industry, working side-by-side with her husband for years before buying Epic Event Rental in Eden Prairie, Minn. With a background in business administration, economics, and event planning, her leadership is helping build Epic Event Rental for a long future of creating memorable moments. She’s also on the ARA of Minnesota board, helping advance the rental industry in the North Star State. More
Two years ago, Johnny Makris was let go from a tire shop that also rented trailers when the company got acquired. He created his own path with his father, Costa, founding Loc-Equip, which has grown from a single dumper trailer and a flatbed to a full earthmoving equipment operation, serving landscapers, concrete pourers, and bricklayers in their hometown of Laval, Quebec, Canada. More
Tom Wood of Camden Hire, Sydney, Australia, runs the company’s site accommodations operations. Despite being just 24, he’s already got nearly a decade of experience in the industry and was named the Hire & Rental Industry Association’s Young Professional of the Year in 2023. He’s a strong advocate of the rental industry and making people aware of the opportunities the industry provides. More
